Februs

Februs was a bi‑monthly British publication produced between 1994 and 2002 as a sister title to Janus. Across its 48 issues, each had 56 pages with a small colour section, the magazine developed a distinct identity despite sharing format, branding, and cross‑advertising with its better‑known counterpart. Early issues were published by Gatisle Ltd, and then later by Pale Horse Ltd.
The magazine’s name is a play on words: the month of January is named after the Roman god Janus, so ‘Februs’ corresponds to February. Paula Meadows (Lynn Paula Russell), a respected illustrator, model, and writer whose artwork and monthly columns gave Februs a recognisable voice. Today, Februs remains of interest to collectors for its distinctive editorial style, Paula Meadows’ artwork, and its place within British spanking magazine history.
