Kamera - Harrison Marks

In 1957, Harrison Marks and his wife, Pamela Green, launched Kamera magazine. The magazine featured Marks’ nude photography of models like June Palmer, Paula Page, Lorraine Burnett, and even Pamela Green herself. The goal was to produce a new kind of magazine featuring photographs of beautiful women, transforming the landscape of glamour photography in the late 1950s.

Kamera was a superbly produced pocket-sized magazine, featuring top models in various locations and studio poses, all with the distinctive style of Harrison Marks. From issue 8, each copy of the magazine included a colour centre spread of the featured cover model. From No. 1 to No. 37, the magazine had 36 pages, including covers, with the page count increasing to 52 from No. 38 onwards. The final issue, No. 89, was published in 1968.
