Original Prints

Vintage print selection. It is always difficult to determine where many of these actually originated. Private studios and photographers often had side businesses selling prints via mail order, sending out printed sheets with picture details on them. Some, of course, ran much larger operations where pictures were often sold in small sets, from what are now referred to as “under the counter” in Soho bookshops. Some will also be home photos that were developed by sending away films, and for a lucky few, the instant Polaroid was available.

All the prints below are originals, as far as I can tell, and have not been reproduced by me. I won’t show print backs unless there is something significant on them. Have a browse; there are some interesting pictures, but please do pay attention to the condition notes and check the pictures carefully before purchasing. Exact postage costs will be reflected on your payment invoice.
