Mixed gay titles that I generally consider to be reprint magazines.
Prolific throughout the late 1960s and 1970s, many niche adult magazines were reprinted from original copies by publishers looking to capitalise on their popularity. Gay magazines were no exception and, consequently, there are thousands of these reprint editions in circulation. Some were produced to a very high standard, while others were considerably less impressive.
We almost always try to identify and clearly mark reprints, and generally offer them at a lower price than original editions. That said, they should not be dismissed. There are many magazines that collectors will only ever encounter in reprint form, making them an important part of preserving publishing history.
Reprints are often inexpensive, highly collectible, and frequently make up a significant portion of many established collections. Whether you’re a newcomer or a seasoned collector, they can be a fascinating and affordable way to explore the rich history of vintage gay publishing.
