Contact Magazines – Even though all the adverts are long out of date, they give us a glimpse into a time before the internet, when you had to put real effort into your advert. No smartphones then — you had to take a photo and get it processed, a brave task in itself. I’m fascinated by the pictures and the things people wrote, and they’re certainly not to be overlooked. You could easily produce a book from the best examples.

Negatives — A selection of black‑and‑white medium‑format negatives, almost all taken in the US, I would estimate to be late 1950s to early 1960s. Plenty of recognisable faces, and several appear to be the work of well‑known photographers — Elmer Batters being one, judging by the familiar backgrounds we all know from the magazines.
